Sierra, Joe, and I are off to Chicago next week-Monday through Thursday. Since Addie is NO fun to travel with, she will be staying home with Grandma Sharon, Uncle John, and her beloved bubble "manchine."Yes, G-ma Sharon bought Addie a bubble blowing machine so that no one has to black out from blowing bubbles non-stop for an hour. The planned itinerary for the trip includes all the kids activities at Navy Pier, Hancock Observatory, Shedd Aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo, Gino's Pizza, and a night game at Wrigley. Whew...I am tired already.
This summer has been crazy around here. We have been working non-stop. My dad was just here for a few days. Sierra has been at her dad's house off and on all summer around horse shows and Math Camp. She was totally thrilled with her first stay-away-from-home camp. The week after Chicago, Sierra is going to Junior zoo keeper camp at the local zoo. (I have to admit that I am totally jealous about this. Why is it that I have to go to work and she gets to play at the zoo???) Then the next week, 8/17, she is back to school for 5th grade!
That's about everything from here. I will give everyone an update when we return. All my love-A

Ok, Amber, so you said there were pictures and there weren't any pictures. Also you just published a draft and I couldn't open it properly - what's up with that?!?

Hey all, everything is great here. I see that I haven't put on any pictures in a while, so here goes. These are from a family reunion party at Emerson's cousins house. Hope you enjoy!

Just checkin' in...

Okay, so I finally managed to try this uploading pictures thing. This picture was taken at a wedding reception we went to last month. I'm sure you can tell which ones are me and Jason, but the others (from left to right around us) are Jason's Dad Ivan, his youngest sister Kaysie, and a friend of ours Nick Bussey who forced his way in!

So anyway, things are going ok here, or as well as can be expected. We've got Nan's funeral on Friday morning, which of course no one is exactly looking forward to, and it will actually be a first for me as well as the kids. Jason is a pallbearer, which I know will make it especially hard for him, but he couldn't imagine not doing it. I think that will be the worst day, and hopefully afterwards we can start thinking about moving on with life without her, as strange as that will be. But it's the only thing we can do, I guess.

The kids have got 2 weeks of school left after this one, and Shannon will be spending her last week in France on a school trip. Her first trip abroad without me, she is very excited about the whole thing. I know she will enjoy it and it will be a wonderful experience for her, but it still scares the hell out of me to let her go. I will just have to keep myself busy and take advantage of the time with Liam.

Ok, that's me for now, I could go on forever as you all know, but I won't, just wanted to check in with you all, let you know I'm still here!

Oh, I do have one bit of excitement, for those of you who don't know - I'm having a visitor. Mom is flying in late tomorrow night and staying until Saturday evening. It was booked before we lost Nan, but i'm sure it's not just coincidence - Mom does have an uncanny way of being where she is needed. So she will be coming to the funeral with us on Friday. Hopefully we will be able to enjoy the rest of her short visit without getting too depressed. It's not long now until she will be back in the US and I don't know how many years before I will see her again, so need to make the most of it while I have the chance.

Anyway, my love to you all, and I will catch up again soon!

Today is the 6th anniversary of moving into the house! I can't believe that we've been here for 6 years. It seems like it's been forever, but it also seems like just yesterday. Here's to 6 more years!! Talk to you later
