Another baked potato...

Well, Sydney had her own baked potato moment yesterday. We were sitting watching the Nascar race together, the kids have actually become quite big fans. Anyways, Bryan and I were talking about some of the drivers and stuff and we said something about Mark Martin. So Sydney asks, "which one is Mark Martin?" Bryan answers, "the number six car." And then right away she looks back at Bryan and asks, "well, who drives the number six car?" Bryan could barely keep a straight face when he answered, "Mark Martin!" Definitely one of her brighter moments! She must get her quickness from her mother!

Military Ball

Hey all,
So last night we got to get all dressed up and went to the ball! First time I've ever been to one with Bryan. In the past there's always been some reason not to go, whether he was gone or there wasn't a vegetarian dinner option (which was the reason most of the time!) and what's the point of going if I can't even eat dinner? But this time it all worked out and we went. The food turned out to actually be delicious, it was a vegetable lasagne with carrots and spinach I think and a creamy white sauce and lots of cheese, really couldn't complain. It was fun though, we sat at a table with some of the guys from Bryan's team, so I knew all of them, and there were two other wives there so at least I had someone to talk to when the guys all went off and bullshitted with each other. But since I was probably the most dressed up I've ever been in my life (hell, I wore my docs to my senior prom!) I told Bryan we had to have our picture taken. So I'll try to attach it on here for you all to see. I decided I think we dress up pretty good!

Well, looks like we're actually supposed to get sunshine this week! It looks nice so far today, just a little windy. I'm going to try to get my vegetable garden planted today, probably really should have been done already, but it wasn't going to happen in the rain! So hopefully I'll be motivated to get lots of yard work done this week, it needs it! Talk to you all soon!

Gas Prices

With the recent surge in gas prices and with all of us spread about the country, I thought it would be interesting for everyone to post the price per gallon of Regular Unleaded. This way we can see the variance from region to region. Heather and Lea, please participate as well. You may give it in your currency per liter and I will convert to US$/gal. Are you using Euros or still the Pound / Lira (sp)?

Hope you all have been having a good week. Amber and the girls are finishing spring break and I believe they are all ready to be back to school. The weather has been exceptional. We have been in the mid 70's all week and all sunshine.

Talk with you all soon. I can not wait to see the price differences...

"I didn't have a baked potato yesterday".......

I just wanted to share this with everyone, because I thought it was hilarious! Shannon has had her own "yesterday's baked potato" moment of sorts. We were playing Chinese Checkers last night, and Liam kept getting very impatient for his turn. He would sit with his hand sort of hovering over the board, in the way of everyone else. I told him to move his hand away so we could see the board and he replied "I'm waiting". So Shannon turns to him and with dead seriousness, says "Liam, wait with your eyes, not with your fingers". We all laughed until we had tears in our eyes, it was so funny!

Spring Break!

Well, spring break is here, and amazingly it actually looks (and feels!) like spring outside! We had had really nasty rainy weather the end of last week and into the weekend and it looked like that's how it was supposed to be all week. Go figure, right? But yesterday it was cloudy but nice and today (have only poked my head out to get the cat in so far!) is actually sunny! Yay! So hopefully I'll be able to get out and get some yard work done this afternoon. We're going to be driving down to Portland tomorrow to go to the zoo down there. It's supposed to be a really nice one with lots more animals than the one they have here in Tacoma, and plus we've been there tons of times. It's a bit of a drive though (around 2 hours I think) so we'll have to leave early to get there at a decent time. It'll be fun though, I'm looking forward to it. Hope the weather still cooperates and doesn't pour on us! But no matter what, it won't be as bloody cold as it was the day we went to the zoo with Heather! And we still had fun, right? Bryan is taking most of the week off as well, all but today, he had to go in for a couple hours. So he'll be around to do stuff with us. It think we're going to try to get our bedroom painted. We still have lots of paint left over from part of our living room and hallway that we're going to use in there. We just got a new duvet cover and curtain set that I think will really look nice with the color. I'm glad Bryan will be here to help though because there's going to be a lot of moving things around. Our bedroom's pretty small and we've got lots of stuff crammed in there, so it'll be tight! Well, I hope everyone else is having lovely spring weather wherever you are! Talk to you all soon. I'll let you know how the trip to the zoo goes! TTFN

Pop Quiz

Hey all, I thought I would add to the idea that Fayth started. Instead of music, though, it's a character I'm looking for:

He never goes anywhere without a towel and his favorite number is 42. Who is he?

Enjoy!

Feeling like spring!

Hey all, hope everyone is good. Dad, it's nice to see you got on here. I'm sorry I never got back to you, I was going to call today! We had our last bowling night of the season last night. We threw the after party, we all hang out and eat and hear where everyone is, ranking wise. So I was cooking and getting ready all day friday and yesterday. I made pasta with 3 sauces: tomato, alfredo and pesto. I think it's so pretty to have all those colors on your plate at the same time. Then salad and bread and lots of cookies (that's what took me so long to cook.) It went well, everyone loved the food. I'm glad we're at the end of bowling. We'll have a Scotch Doubles at the end of the month and an awards banquet and then it's over. It's been fun, but it'll be nice to not have that commitment every month.

Fayth, love that song. I've been listening to CSN in the car a lot. I made a favorites cd, and then had to make another one because there are so many songs I like!! I think they are one of my all time favorite groups, next to the Beatles!!

Now as for the title, it does feel like spring here. We've had temps in the upper 50s and low 60s every day this week. Yesterday was 71 and today it's supposed to be just as nice. So far so good, we're going to go bike riding here in a little while, it's almost 3:00. I just have to clean the kitchen up first, or we'll come back and everyone will be hungry and I'll have to clean first. I hate it when that happens.

I'll have to get some pictures of Autumns earrings onto the computer. They are still in the camera and we just need to download. I agree with Sydney that it is pretty funny that things happen the way they do with the girls.

Love to all, talk to you soon
